Have you made so many decisions today that you're exhausted and just refuse to make one more?!
As a mom working full-time, some days feel like all I do is make decisions nonstop, which might be why if you catch me on one of those days and ask where I'd like to meet for our lunch date that weekend I'll ask you to pick the place...I can't even think of a restaurant name at that point. 🍽
Between all the decisions I make at work and for the family and home it's no wonder by dinner I can't muster the energy to make ONE MORE DECISION.
Even if that decision is choosing ice cream or popcorn for dessert... 🍨 🍿
I just want to shut down and NOT think or decide anything for the rest of the night. 🤯
But did you know there are steps you can take to minimize decision fatigue?!!
Below are my TOP 4 go to's that I personally find super helpful to combat decision fatigue but a quick google search can give you even more ideas and options!
1. Limit the number of choices you have!
Can you use a 'uniform' look to dress daily?
Can you have a weekly menu?
Do you have a routine for the morning or evening?
2. Schedule out your top must do's when you're fresh!
Is there a day of the week, for me it's Sunday, that you can sit down and plan out the week and decide with a clear head what needs to happen each day?
Do you know a certain day(s) is more stressful and know you won't have time or energy for many extras and know to limit your must do list that day?
3. Block out time for things that bring you joy and recharge you!
When you know you have the time and space to do the things that make you happy, do you find that you can focus on the harder task more to get them done?
4. Close out the distractions!
Did you know a 2017 study showed that on average we switch tasks 300 times a day?
Do you turn off your notification on your cell phone?
Can you turn off your email notifications and only check your inbox at certain times a day?
